Even better, you can even use the Panther DC UPS to charge your smartphone in case it becomes low on battery. With the Panther DC UPS, being disconnected from work, family, and friends will become a thing of the past!

What is a WiFi Router DC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)?

Most of us are familiar with the traditional UPS systems used for computers. Similar to those UPS, the DC Uninterruptible Power Supply also serves the same purpose for your WiFi routers. It’s essentially a more compact and portable power backup solution designed with WiFi routers in mind (and even laptops, as long as your laptop consumes less than 36 Watts). What it does is provide uninterrupted power to your WiFi router during a power outage, so that you are able to maintain internet connectivity even when the power goes out, as it so often does in the Philippines.

How does a DC (Direct Current) UPS work?

The main principle behind how a UPS works is the same, whether it’s an AC (Alternating Current) or a DC (Direct Current) UPS. They both use DC power stored in its battery (which was converted from AC power in the first place) to provide power to connected appliances in the case of a power outage.

However, the main difference between the two is that the DC UPS is meant for DC devices. As such, in the case of a power outage, the DC power from the battery requires no conversion and can be directly supplied to the connected DC devices. In contrast, the AC UPS would need to convert from DC battery power back to AC in order to power the connected AC appliances.

Because of this, DC UPS are more compact, very portable, and cheaper when compared to AC UPS. This makes them the perfect backup solution for your WiFi/internet routers, and even a handy tool to quickly power up your smartphone when needed.

What are the key features and benefits of a Panther DC UPS?

Continuous Power Supply

The Panther DC UPS will seamlessly switch to battery power during a power outage, ensuring interrupted power for your WiFi router so that you can maintain connectivity during critical tasks, such as online Zoom meetings, file downloads and uploads for work, and even video streaming. With its built-in high capacity 10400 mAh lithium batteries, the Panther DC UPS PUD-362 should be able to power your basic 12V 1A WiFi router for up to ~13 hours (more than half a day!).

Multi-Use Functions

The Panther DC UPS is compatible with multiple devices, and can be useful for personal, household, and even business use!

  • USB DC 5V 2A output for charging smartphones quickly
  • DC 5V 2A output for biometric and DC desk fans
  • DC 9V and 12V output for Globe/PLDT/Converge WiFi routers and CCTV cameras.
  • DC 15V/24V Power over Ethernet (POE) interface for data and power transmission such as interconnected CCTVs

Intelligent Protection for Long-term Usage

With its intelligent circuit design, the Panther DC UPS PUD-362 is equipped with:

  • Over-Charging Protection: Prevents the Panther DC UPS PUD-362 from being damaged by excessive charging. This allows you to keep the DC UPS connected 24/7 to the AC power supply without fear of breakage.
  • Over-Discharging Protection: The Panther DC UPS PUD-362’s battery is safeguarded from being drained completely, which extends its lifespan considerably
  • Over-Load Protection: The Panther DC UPS PUD-362 has a maximum capacity of 36 Watts. However, if you accidentally plug in a load higher than that, don’t worry, because when this occurs, the DC UPS lights will flash, and will then automatically shut down to protect the UPS and the plugged-in devices from damage.
  • Short Circuit Protection: When the Panther DC UPS PUD-362 detects a short circuit, it will automatically shut down to protect the UPS.

Compact, Portable and Intuitive Design

The Panther DC UPS is lightweight, portable, and has an LED status indicator for you to easily determine how much power is left and whether it is time to recharge your DC UPS. Even better, the built-in adapter is designed for a wide 100-240V AC voltage range so it’s suitable for use anywhere you go without the need for additional transformers.

Easy Installation and Maintenance

In line with designing products specific to Filipino consumer requirements, the Panther DC UPS is meant to be plug-and-use, requiring minimal setup and maintenance for a hassle-free operation. Keep it connected for 24/7 and there should be no issue.

Lifetime Service Warranty

As part of Panther’s commitment to its customers, we offer Lifetime Service Warranty on our products, including the Panther DC UPS PUD-362. This gives our customers peace of mind, so that in case something goes wrong, you know you’ll always be able to reach out to us. Likewise, when the battery conks out (which it will, since batteries are consumable), you’ll have the option to have the battery replaced at the Panther Service Center instead of buying a new DC UPS altogether, which costs money AND adds wastes to the planet which is harmful to our Mother Earth.

To serve our customers’ needs, Panther currently offers one DC UPS model: PUD-362 and a variety of AC UPS models ranging from 500VA to 3000VA.
