Are you ready? Let’s walk you through how to use your Panther Digital Power Meter (PPM 2216)
Step 1: Set up your electricity price on the Digital Power Meter
- To set the electricity price (cost/kWh), first check the actual cost/kWh that’s being charged to you. This should be found on your electricity bill. Note that the rate per kWh can vary from month-to-month, but you can use your latest electricity bill as a guide.
- Now that you know the electricity price you want to set, press the “COST” button for more than 3 seconds.
- To navigate through the decimal placements, press the “FUNC” button. Then press the “UP” and “DOWN” buttons to increase or decrease the value, respectively.
- Once the right cost is indicated, press the “COST” button to set your desired electricity price.
Step 2: Plug the Digital Power Meter into a verified grounded 2 wire wall outlet
Ensure the outlet is active before plugging in your Digital Power Meter. The Digital Power Meter will automatically turn on when you plug it into a power source. You can verify that the Digital Power Meter is on because there will be numbers displayed on the screen.
Step 3: Plug your appliance into the Digital Power Meter
- Before plugging in your appliance, make sure the appliance is compatible with the Digital Power Meter’s specifications
Note: Do NOT plug in the appliance if the voltage does not match, or if its current exceeds the 16A capacity of the Digital Power Meter
Step 4: Set up your Digital Power Meter to the desired Mode
Depending on what information you wish to see, check which Mode you need to set your Digital Power Meter to.
Once you’ve decided which mode you want to see on your Power Meter, press the FUNC button until you reach the desired mode.
Step 5: Reset Button
To reset all the readings on your Digital Power Meter, simply press the reset button. For example, you may have been using the Digital Power Meter to track the cumulative electricity consumption of your aircon. But now, you want to use it to check the electricity consumption of your refrigerator. If so, make sure to reset so that the data you see will be solely data from your refrigerator.
Some additional reminders to avoid any damage to your digital power meter:
- Do NOT place the Digital Power Meter near excessive humidity, under sunshine or close to heat emitting sources
