On this year’s Labor Day, our company celebrated its first-ever team building! Held at the beautiful KLIR Waterpark & Resort, Guiguinto, Bulacan the day was filled with bonding, laughter, teamwork, and a lot of unforgettable moments for our employees.
The goal was clear: strengthen connections, build trust, and boost teamwork. Through both physically and mentally challenging games, everyone had the opportunity to howcase their leadership, coordination, and collaboration skills — all essential traits for team success.
At 6:00AM sharp, we left the company. Everyone was excited on the bus — it was our first time to do this, and the energy was high from the start! We arrived at Klir at 7:00 AM and were welcomed by the perfect setting for a fun-filled day. We had three cottages for everyone to relax and regroup, and KLIR has a big open area specifically designed for team building activities, giving us plenty of space to move, run, and laugh together. The resort also featured a wave pool and a bubble soap area, which added more fun and excitement to our break time.

The food was super good — everyone was full and satisfied, and we even took home the remaining servings!

For the team building, employees were divided into four teams:
🔵 Blue
🔴 Red
🟡 Yellow
🟢 Green
The activities were time-based, with matchups between:
• Yellow vs. Red
• Blue vs. Green

Each game was designed to encourage communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and trust. Here are the games we played:

  • Team Cheer – To build camaraderie early on, each team was tasked to develop a team cheer to showcase their individuality and team spirit.
  • Picture Me Game – Given a scenario, team members had to act it out like a posed photo. This sparked initiative and creativity.
  • Unity Walk – Wearing large slippers, teams had to walk in sync across a distance. It required unity, coordination, and a lot of patience!
  • Centipede Race – A fun and challenging human centipede race. It tested coordination and encouraged everyone to give directions and speak up.

  • Helium Transfer – A ball had to be moved using only small pipes, without touching it. Pure teamwork and balance!

  • Acid River – Using strategic thinking, team members had to work together to figure out how to cross the river using only 2 wooden planks and 3 wooden blocks as support.

  • Circle Pass (Hula Hoop/Duct Tape) – Teams had to pass a hoop without breaking hand contact. It challenged both teamwork and individual focus.

  • Spiderweb– A trust-based challenge where each team member needed to cross a spiderweb without touching the rope, relying on their teammates to carry them through. Trust and careful planning were key!

  • Fill the Pipe – Played in the pool using a container with holes. Some members plugged the holes while others filled it with water. This tested teamwork, quality of work, and patience under pressure.

It was a day full of fun and camaraderie! Intense games and some hilarious moments (like slips during obstacle runs, teasing other teams by distracting them to get the team flags, and even males pretending to be pregnant ladies in the Picture Me Game) made the experience even more memorable. The teams were so competitive that we wrapped everything up earlier than planned, giving us extra time for relaxation and bonding.

Beyond the fun, each activity taught us something valuable:

  • Picture Me Game sparked creativity and quick thinking.
  • Unity Walk and Centipede Race built patience and coordination.
  • Acid River, Fill the Pipe, and Helium Transfer improved problem-solving under pressure.
  • Circle Pass and Spiderweb challenged us to communicate, trust each other, and collaborate toward a common goal.

These games brought out leadership, patience, and trust in ways we don’t usually get to practice at work. Everyone walked away a little stronger, more connected, and more confident as a team.

Not just that, our core values of Honesty and Integrity, Concern, Ownership, and a Growth Mindset were strengthened during our team-building activities:

  • Ownership was evident in the Acid River and Fill the Pipe games, where participants were responsible for their roles to ensure tasks were completed properly
  •  Growth Mindset was encouraged in activities like the Picture Me Game and Helium Transfer, where quick thinking and adapting strategies led to personal and team development.
  • Concern for one another was shown in Trust Fall and Spiderweb, where supporting teammates’ safety and well-being was a priority.
  • Honesty and Integrity were essential in activities like the Unity Walk and Centipede Race, where open communication and trust were key to success.

And ultimately, the Green Team came out as the champion. But honestly, we are all champions.

From the energizing bus ride to the competitive games and amazing food, every moment brought our team closer together. All employees, from production to office, were teamed up together, creating an environment of unity and camaraderie that transcended departments. We laughed, we competed, we learned — and most importantly, we strengthened our bonds beyond the office walls. We also gained new memories that will last a lifetime.

The event was a perfect blend of teamwork, trust, and fun. With such great success, we’re now excited and hopeful for more events like this in the future — bigger, better, and with even more surprises!

Spread the love
