Good day! I have the same problem encountered by Steve. When I tried to measure the output voltage, the output reading was almost 19v. And I don’t have any clue if its charging when connected to any 12v motorcycle battery. Could you please help me with this on, how to fix our PBC 6A: Panther Battery Charger 6A.

    • Panther Support

Good day! A 19V reading sounds right. To determine if the battery is charging, you should see the ammeter reading gradually going down. Once it is steady and is no longer going down, that’s the indication that the battery is fully charged.

We hope this clarifies your question! Kindly let us know how else we can help.

Hi, my pbc-6a is still new but amp needle doesn’t move anymore. Checked voltage output while connected to a 7 amp motorcycle battery reading was 15.6 volts. Before connecting to charger battery voltage was 9+ volts.
Is the output voltage higher than normal? Is the ammeter defective. And do you have available ammeter?

    • Panther Support

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to us.
Our initial assessment is as follows, based on your situation description:
      – It’s possible that the battery you are charging is defective. You mentioned that the battery voltage (prior to connecting to the battery charger) was at 9+ volts. This seems abnormally low, as we would typically expect the battery voltage to be around 11v-12v.
      – The 15.6v reading is considered normal output voltage when connected to the battery charger

      – Suggested plan:
      a) Could you kindly test the PBC 6A with a 12V battery to test if the ammeter is indeed broken, or if it was not reading due to a defective battery?
      b) Please check and make sure your toggle switch is pointed to the right mode (6V vs 12V)

Depending on the outcome of your tests, kindly let our Customer Service Center know at wecare.panther@gmail.com . We have opened a customer ticket for you (#2104-31).

Hi, thanks for your valued reply. I tested my charger again as you suggested; you’re correct, the battery is the one defective. I never imagined how good is your chargeris- it doesn’t register any output amp when the battery is defective, and I didn’t know that the voltage could be as high as 29 volts (i tested for voltage) when not connected to a battery that’s why I thought the charger was defective. But you could have included these “notes” in the manual.
So everything is ok with my charger. I tested it on my pickup’s battery and it’s working perfectly! Thanks again.

    • Panther Support

Good day! We’re happy to hear the charger is working well! We will take your feedback into account and consider including it in our manual in the future. Thanks again, and feel free to let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

I have a battery with 12V, 9 AH, how long would i charge it using the panther PBC 6A: Panther Battery Charger 6A Output Current, 6&12V DC Output Voltage.
You quick response it highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    • Panther Support

Good day! For your 9AH battery, it will take ~1.5 hours for the PBC 6A to charge, if the battery was fully dead. When the approximate charging time has been reached, look at the ammeter pointer. If the ammeter pointer has not moved for some time, then the battery is now fully charged. We hope this helps!

  6. jayjay

how long i charge my battery 12v 150 ah? my charger is pbc 6a

    • Panther Support

Good day! You will need to charge for around ~25 hours if your 12V 150AH battery is fully depleted. Make sure your voltage selector switch is on 12V. We hope this helps!

  7. Noel

How do i know if my battery is full, does the ammeter dial returns to zero(0) when batt is full? I do have a PBC – 6A charger just bought recently.

    • panther admin

Good day Noel! Yes, when you notice that the ammeter points back to 0, or when the approximate charging time has been reached and the pointer has stopped moving for quite some time, then the battery is said to be fully charged. We hope it helps.
