What should be the voltage output to charge a 12volts car battery with a PBC 12A model?
Panther Support –
Good day! If you measure the voltage output (at alligator clamp), it should be around 13V-14V when the toggle is at 12V. We hope this answers your question!
Patrick So –
Can I charge the battery while still connected in the car?
Panther Support –
No, please disconnect the battery from the car prior to charging with the Panther Battery Charger.
Allan –
Is there any chance of overcharging of the battery?
Panther Support –
Good day! Yes, there is. Since this is a Manual Battery Charger, you must take note of the expected total charging time and monitor the ammeter to determine when the battery is fully charged. Once that happens, kindly unplug the battery from the charger to prevent overcharging.
You can also consider our Automatic Battery Charger series, which can detect if the battery is already fully charged, and will automatically switch to float mode or maintenance mode to protect your battery from overcharging. Artemio Trondillo Cabradilla –
What can i see on the ommeter if the battery is fully charged.
Panther Support –
Good day! Once the ammeter is relatively near 0 and has reached stable status (meaning the ammeter charge is no longer going down), then the battery is fully charged. We hope this helps!

Can I use this to charge LiFePO4 batteries?
panther admin –
Good day! It’s possible but it’s not recommended because it can run the risk of damaging the battery and battery life since it’s a different type of battery compared to lead acid. Usually in LiFePO4 battery, it is constantly charging and it also has no float compared to lead acid battery with float, so LiFePO4 is more prone to overcharging. We hope this helps! Thank you!
