Having a power inverter that provides a continuous AC power supply is an excellent choice, especially in a country like the Philippines where power outages are a common occurrence. With the assurance of uninterrupted power, you can continue what you’re doing even when brownouts or power outages happen. This makes it easier to stay productive and avoid any disruptions to your work.

Ensuring a stable AC power source for your consumer electronic equipment is essential. However, it is also crucial to protect the power inverter that supplies said AC power to your equipment from damage.

If you’re experiencing problems with your Panther Power Inverter, here are some tips and tricks for efficient troubleshooting that might help you.

Why won’t my Power Inverter turn on?

A typical reason behind why your Power Inverter is not turning on could be because the fuse is busted.

This can be caused by:

  • Overload – you have plugged in an appliance with rated capacity higher than the inverter’s maximum capacity.
  • Misuse of Battery Clips/Cable
    • The battery clips or cable touched each other.
    • The battery clips or cable were connected at the same time. Always make sure to connect one at a time.
    • The polarity of clips or cable connection were reversed. Red clip/cable must be connected to the positive battery terminal, and the black clip/cable must be connected to the negative battery terminal.

  • Battery issues
    • Wrong battery connected – you may have connected a 24V DC battery to a Power Inverter that requires a 12V DC input voltage. Kindly replace with the correct battery source.

In the table below, it shows the battery voltage suitable for each Panther Power Inverter model

    • Damaged battery connected – try replacing with a new battery (after you’ve replaced the fuse) to see if the Power Inverter will work.

To be able to use your Power Inverter again, try replacing the fuse with the same size and same rating and check if the inverter will work. If it does not work, kindly contact us at wecare.panther@gmail.com so we can further assist you.

Other reasons why your Power Inverter won’t turn on could be:

  • You used the Power Inverter with a positive ground vehicle. Note that the Panther Power Inverter can only be used with negative ground vehicles, which is the case for most Philippine cars. If in doubt, kindly check with the car manufacturer to be sure.
  • You used the Power Inverter with a turned off engine, then started up the car while the Power Inverter was still in use. Remember, the car battery can be used as a battery source for the Power Inverter both when the engine is turned on and turned off. However, never restart the car engine while the power inverter is in use, as this will cause damage to the inverter.

Why is the red LED light lit up?

  • The Red LED indicator signifies low battery supply. Check your battery if it still has sufficient charge. If not, replace your battery with good condition battery or you may recharge your battery first before connecting the power inverter.
  • Take note that the inverter converts DC power from your battery source into AC power that can be used by the plugged-in electronic equipment. Therefore, the amount of time that the inverter can supply AC power will depend on the available charge of the battery source.

Why is my Power Inverter producing beeping sounds?

  • Check if the beeping is due to your power source (battery) being low on charge. Turn off your power inverter and replace the battery with a good condition battery in order to use the power inverter again. You can also recharge your battery first, before reconnecting the inverter again.
  • The beeping could also be because you connected a 12V DC battery to an inverter that requires a 24V DC. Replace the 12V DC battery with a 24V DC battery source instead.

Why does it spark when I plug in my appliance to the Power Inverter?

  • If you plug an appliance into a Power Inverter that is already turned on, you may see sparks between the appliance plug and Inverter outlet. We recommend plugging in the appliance into a Power Inverter that is turned off. Once the appliance is plugged in, only then should you turn on the Power Inverter
